A thrilling adventure to Vesuvius, a journey that combines natural beauty with the thrill of exploration. The tour begins by walking along paths on volcanic terrain where the air is full of anticipation. We will head towards Strada Matrone, walking along this historic path, we will find ourselves surrounded by lush vegetation. Each step brings us closer to the heart of the volcano, and with each meter gained, the view becomes more and more spectacular.
After walking a stretch of Strada Matrone, you will reach the entrance to the Valle dell'Inferno. This evocative place, characterized by a lunar landscape, owes its name to the ancient legends that associated it with the entrance to the underworld. The Valle dell'Inferno is a large volcanic depression formed following a series of eruptions. Here you can admire the lava flows, fumaroles and ancient volcanic vents.
The terrain is a mosaic of lava flows and expanses of black sand. The atmosphere is surreal, almost as if we had set foot on another planet. As we continue, we will stop to contemplate the rock formations, sculpted by time and the elements. Each new view is an opportunity for a photo, a memory that will capture the essence of this adventure. After hours of exploration, it is time to return. The return is a moment to reflect on the emotions experienced, the breathtaking views and the sense of freedom that only such a powerful and wild place can offer. Difficulty:
The route has a considerable difference in altitude and some technical sections. It is recommended for expert and trained bikers.
Best time:
Spring and autumn are the ideal times to do this hike, when temperatures are milder and the landscape is more lush.
